The Long Island Mozart Festival returns for its second late-summer run at Old Westbury Gardens, where kids can frolic on the lawn or play composer, and where classical music lovers can feast their ears on Mozart alfresco. There’s also ballet, modern dance, carriage rides, fencing - yes, fencing - plus food, wine and, oh yeah, a world premiere.

We asked composer David Winkler, who doubles as Mozart Festival artistic director, what makes his composition, as well as his festival, so environmentally friendly:

We don’t generally think of any sort of music as being environmentally unfriendly. So what makes your “Concerto Green,” uh, greener?

With this tour, Madonna somehow conjures up the distraction while still referencing what we need to be distracted from. “Sticky and Sweet” succeeds at moving minds and feet, though, this being Madonna, the latter always comes first.
